Had a wiener schnitzel there when I visited Vienna last year. Delicious and good portion, with potato salad and jam. Price was normal for Vienna. Rest of my friends had lots of beers, we had a good night.

Wonderful decorations inside, with tables outside during summer. Very delicious dishes, I'd recommend definitely the ribs, but the calf schnitzel was very good too. Plates come rmin big portions, accompanied with potatoes and salad that varies from the type of food you've ordered.
Really nice Austrian food, great vegan options, lovely beers and a great traditional atmosphere.
It's a good indicator if there are not really tourists seen at a Viennese restaurant or pub. But I have to say it's meanwhile very difficult to find a nice restaurant with an original Viennese flair and reasonable prices — too many were closed during the last the decades. The Brandstetter is one of these old places and it is still open. It's located a little bit outside of the side, but it's directly reachable with the tramway no. 43 from the city. The interior design is a relic of the past, but that is the reason why this place is so special. And don't forget that you are at an original Viennese wine and beer pub, where usually only people are coming, who are really living there. So step in and don't expect a fancy place, but enjoy a wonderful Czech tap beer with a Wiener Schnitzel and potato salad. Or come after work and have one more glasses of wine and watch a soccer game. This is the place to go if you want traditional Austrian cuisine. Their Schnitzel and Beer selection is amazing and they even have my favorite, Backhendlsalat (fried chicken salad). The staff is nice and helpful and the food was super fresh. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to my friends!
